While I Was Gone

While I was gone, did you miss me?
Did you often speak my name
While I was gone? Your home
Welcomed me back this way.

Oh, it's good, good to be here
After many miles away. In my years of travel
Well, I longed for this day.

I've reached plateaus
And misfortune from time to time.
The friendship I've encountered here
Well, I know it's hard to find.
My regards to your family
For we must part, farewell.
So many roads discovered;
Yet so many more to go.

So before life passes,
There's a world to explore.
Deranged at times, well I may be,
But I will return once more.
